I hate to admit that I discovered the delicious world of Whipped Coffee from…TikTok (facepalm). Regardless, it turns out that “whipped coffee” is also known as “Dalgona coffee,” a preparation of coffee that is standard and traditional in Greece (called a “frappe”) and other countries.
I’m sharing the recipe today because I could not believe how simple it is to make yet delicious to have in the mornings. (My boyfriend loved this coffee so much he made it for a few days in a row!) Without further ado, let’s get on with the recipe.
Time: 15 mins
- Instant coffee
- Cane sugar
- Add 2 tbsp of each of the following into a clean bowl: instant coffee, cane sugar, and hot water.
- Whisk all together until consistency thickens, the color lightens, and the mixture becomes creamy (5-10 min). (Pro-tip: once your hand hurts from whisking, it’s pretty much ready.)
- Pour the whisked coffee mixture onto a glass filled with ice and milk (or into a mug with hot milk).
- Mix it all and enjoy it!
