What’s In My Bag? My Everyday Essentials

Today we’re going back in time, to the early-2000s, when ‘What’s in my Bag’ posts were written by so many blogs! Anyone remember? I genuinely don’t know why, but I love reading/watching “What’s in my bag” videos and articles and thought it would be fun to do it too. So, I decided to jump in with my own bag. I’m going to share what’s (almost always) carried around with me in my purse. And I promise not to leave things out or edit this! Let’s get to it!

My current purse (and obsession)

I’m in love with the Snapshot DTM Camera Crossbody from Marc Jacobs. It is a bit pricey, BUT

(1) you can (and I did) find it discounted on sites like TheRealReal, and

(2) I genuinely believe that the quality, durability, and versatility of this bag are worth the splurge if you’re thinking about it.

Personally, the black hardware with the black (faux) leather is so chic and matches absolutely ✨everything!✨

Shall we open it up and look inside?

1. Eye drops.

I wear contacts. “Monthlies.” The kind that I don’t dispose of at the end of the day, but instead wash and save them for reuse. These kinds of contacts tend to be a bit more drying than “dailies,” and wearing contacts, in general, can dry out your eyes. For this reason, I am almost dependent on my eyedrops. If you’re my friend or you’ve been in class with me, you’ve definitely seen me pop some drops in like a piece of gum (😂). (For someone who used to be scared of contacts and even shy to put them in in public, I’m now actually really good at it 🤪).

Whether or not you wear contacts, it’s a great idea to keep some eye drops in your car, purse, backpack—wherever, since you never know when you might need some!

2. My wallet.

I love my little yellow wallet from Amazon. It never fails to brighten my mood! ✨💛🌻

3. Earphones.

I don’t know much about headphones, but I do know that these work ✨wonders.✨ (I’m looking at you, lady yelling at nothing unnecessarily at the JetBlue terminal gate!) I’m so grateful to have received these as the most amazing (and practical) Christmas gift! 😍 These earbuds are incredible at canceling out surrounding sound and letting you focus on the task you’re completing. They are also fantastic at simply playing music or listening to a podcast.

4. Gum… and empty wrappers.

This goes without saying.

5. Scrunchie and an extra* face mask.

*Extra because I’m most likely wearing one already. I just recently purchased this affordable (and sustainable!) matching mask-and-scrunchie set from Target, and I think it’s adorable.

I’d be lying if I said I was this put-together 24/7.

Wear a mask. Get vaccinated. Protect yourself and others. Stop the spread!

6. Tinted lip balm.

I don’t have a go-to for this, and usually, I pick up whatever packaging I find the cutest calls to me at the convenience store. Recently I’ve been using and enjoying Burt’s Bees.

Why do I opt for tinted as oppose to regular clear lip balm, or lipstick? Because tinted makes me feel more put together, and I’m not nearly makeup-savvy enough for lipstick application.

7. Hand sanitizer.

Carrying this around also goes without saying.

Note: even when using/carrying around hand sanitizer, still wash your hands! Handwashing will remove all types of germs from your hands. Hand sanitizers cannot kill all kinds of germs or remove harmful chemicals like pesticides and heavy metals.)

8. My phone and keys.

AKA my lifelines.

This is my little keychain from Lululemon. Finally, I found one that doesn’t break, can hold so many keys, and is very easy to attach and remove!

9. Feminine hygiene products Tampon(s).

You know, for when it’s that time of the month or when a fellow lady needs one in an emergency.

If you’re surprised at how this all fits in the tiny purse, I was too! (But, another reason why this purse is just fabulous.)

Voila!

What are some of your bag essentials?
